In what order did you secure your wedding vendors and do you recommend other couples do the same?
Our venue was the first thing we chose, and everything else fell into place after that. We went with one of Mill 1’s preferred caterers, Seth Mias, and the food was a major talking point among guests. We found that booking the venue first made everything else easier to schedule in the long run.
Which three pictures are your favorites and why?
Becca captured the mood of our wedding so beautifully; we really appreciated the “raw” aspect her style brought to our reception photos. You can really just feel how much fun everyone had! We love the first {left} and second photos {below left} because they really just embody Mill 1’s industrial aesthetic. We feel joy when we look at these pictures! The third photo {below right} is extremely special to us because it really is just a raw moment of pure happiness and love (and yes, I changed into jeans!)
What time of year did you choose for your wedding and why?
We chose to get married in the fall because we felt we needed to take advantage of the beautiful New England foliage! We had a lot of out of town guests, some who had never even been to MA, and we felt it was necessary to show them New England at its peak beauty.
Which wedding details are worth sweating?
The food, hands down. We were so happy that we picked Seth Mias catering. He did an excellent job, and our food was talked about by friends and family for months after the wedding. The venue obviously is another detail that really is important to consider. The venue sets the mood for the event, and makes the event personalized to the couple.
Which wedding details are NOT worth sweating?
The wedding dress! We spent about $400 on the dress and it was still just as beautiful as if we would have spent $3,000.
What special details of your celebration are most memorable to you?
One of my favorite (practical) details of our wedding was that we chose to have an hour gap between the ceremony and the reception since they were in two different places. This allowed us to take pictures during that time, and then be there for our cocktail hour! We were so happy to be a part of our cocktail hour, as most couples do not attend. But we found that it was very important to connect with our guests before dinner. We also just absolutely loved dancing with our family and friends. We were a lively group for sure, but we had a blast!
